The white gold color on the barrel is the result of gold cladding. Cladding is the metallurgical bonding of different metals often used in coinage and high end jewelry where quality is important.

Rika Denshi has been using gold cladding on the inside of barrels for many years. It provides a better surface finish for the sliding contact of the plungers, which results in lower and more consistent electrical resistance. Incorporating the gold cladding on both the inside and outside surface provides an even more robust product. Now both sides of the barrel feature a precious metal surface that is hard, thick, durable, and less porous. It is perfect for the demanding requirements of today's testing environments.
