Rika Denshi America has introduced a new test probe with an electroformed barrel – e-barrel ®. Typical test probe barrels are manufactured with copper alloys using machines that cut, draw, stretch or drill metal into the desired shape.
e-barrel ® electroformed barrels are manufactured using a proprietary plating process. This process allows Rika Denshi to produce test probes in extremely fine pitch, down to 0.15mm.
Rika Denshi is able to produce these small pitch test probes because the e-Barrel® has a very thin wall thickness. This thin stable barrel gives the test probe a larger inside diameter which will allow a larger more durable spring with higher spring forces than a comparable size conventionally manufactured test probe.
